Swan Creek Township – The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash which occurred on County Road C east of County Road 6, Swan Creek Township, Fulton County. The crash happened on December 9, 2019 at approximately 6:42 P.M.
A 2002 Chevrolet pick-up truck, driven by 30-year-old Benjamin Riester of Swanton, Ohio, was eastbound on County Road C just west of County Road 6.
Mr. Riester’s vehicle went off the right side of the road struck a mailbox and then crossed over to the left side of the road where he struck a large rock and a tree. Mr. Riester was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Mr. Riester was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and the crash remains under investigation at this time.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Fulton County EMS, Delta Fire and EMS, and K&K towing.
