Stryker Defeats Fayette In Five Sets

September 22, 2014Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments1 Min Read

(September 18th, 2014)-STRYKER: Playing host to the visiting Lady Eagles of Fayette, Stryker probably didn’t realize they would be staying so late.

It took five sets to decide a winner in the BBC contest. That winner happened to be the home team Lady Panthers of Stryker. This one could have went either way, though.

Stryker took the first two sets 25-23 and 25-17, making it appear as though a sweep was in the works. But Fayette battled back, taking the next two sets 25-22 ad 25-21. The deciding fifth set was a seesaw affair, with the Lady Panthers pulling out a 15-11 win to take the match.

Allie Frisbie set things up for the Lady Panthers, making 10 assists and 3 aces. Audra Rupp had 11 kills and 3 blocks. Maddie Uribes and Taylor Haines each added 2 aces to Stryker in the win.

Michaela Bates was the major scorer for Fayette, managing 13 kills to go along with her 12 digs and single ace. Hannah Machacek was the catalyst for the Lady Eagle offense, making 33 assists in addition to her 8 digs and 1 kill. Kaela Seiler made 31 digs for Fayette in the loss.
