The blue and white gymnasium of Stryker High School was bedecked in scarlet and gold on the evening of February 13, as the Panther faithful celebrated Homecoming 2021 with a Valentine’s Day theme.
Reigning over the Homecoming festivities were 2021 Homecoming King and Queen Amos Sloan and Kinsey Myers.
Homecoming Queen Kinsey Myers is the daughter of Keith and Janet Myers. She has a younger sister named Marissa and younger brother named Jacob. She is involved with volleyball, basketball, track, student council, and NHS. Her hobbies include watching and playing sports, running, movie nights with her family, and hanging out with her friends.
This hyper, picky and gullible senior said her favorite food is birthday cake ice cream. If she were stranded on an island, she would want ice cream, a bathing suit, and a bed. Her ideal Satur¬day night is hanging out with the girls and eating a bunch of snacks. Her favorite movies are “McFarland, USA” and “The Miracle Season.”
If she could take a dream vacation, she would go back to Hawaii be¬cause it was beautiful and she loves the ocean. Her plans for the fu-ture are to go to Bluffton University to run Track and major in sports management. After that, Kinsey would like to come back to Stryker, get married, and start a family.
Homecoming King Amos Sloan is the son of Scott and April Sloan. He has an older brother, Otis, and older sister, Abby. Amos is involved with football, basketball, and FFA. His hobbies include hanging out with friends and family, playing sports, and going to cattle shows.
This funny, athletic and strong se¬nior said his favorite food is steak and potatoes. If he was stranded on an island, he would bring food, water and a helicopter so he could get out of there. His ideal Saturday night includes hanging out with the boys. His favorite movie is “Borat.”
He would like to go back to Nash¬ville because it is a super fun place to go. Amos’s plans for the future include graduating, getting a good job, raising show cattle, getting married, and starting a family.
The royal court began with freshmen attendants Emmalee Fulk and Jacob Cadwell.
Emmalee is the daughter of Shaun and Coleen Fulk. She has an older sister Haylee and three younger sisters: Addalee, Abby, and Lily. She is involved with basketball, volleyball and softball here at school.
This athletic and enthusiastic freshman says her hobbies include playing sports, drawing, and watching Netflix. Her favorite food is mac & cheese. Emmalee says her ideal Saturday night is hanging out with friends or with her niece, Brynlee.
She says she would like to visit Ore¬gon so she can see where the Twilight movies were made. After high school, Emmalee plans on going to and graduating from Ohio State University, getting a job and starting a family.
Emmalee was escorted by Jacob, the son of Jason and Heather Cadwell. He has three older sisters, Kyleigh, Emily, and MaKenzie. He is involved in football, basketball, and baseball. This funny and hardworking freshman enjoys sleeping, watch¬ing Netflix, and hanging out with friends.
Jacob says his favorite food is pizza and that if he were deserted on an island and could only bring three things with him, they would be Chick-fil-A, a basketball, and Levi Barnum.
His favorite TV Show is “The Office” and his favorite movie is “Step Brothers.” He would like to visit Hawaii with his boys, and his future plans are to graduate high school, go to college, get a good job, get married, and start a family.
The sophomore class selected Abbie Meyer and Matthew Froelich as their representative attendants.
Abbie is the daughter of Brooks and Amee Meyer. She has a younger brother Xavior. She is involved with volleyball, softball, cheer-leading, dance, and student council. Her hobbies include shopping, watching Netflix, eating, and playing video games.
This loud, creative and empathetic sophomore said her favorite food is steak and mashed potatoes. The three things she would bring with her on a deserted is¬land would include food, a boat and a friend because there’s no way she’s doing that alone.
Her ideal Saturday night would be hanging out with friends or staying home and watching Netflix. Her dream vacation would be to London to see where the Beatles originated from. Her future plans are to attend college, become a nurse, find someone and start a family.
Matthew, the son of Brent and Rachel Froelich, was Abbie’s escort for the evening. Matthew has a younger sister, Grace, and a younger brother, Jacob. Matthew is involved with football and basketball here at Stryker. His hobbies include hunting and fishing.
This athletic, Christian and funny sophomore says his favorite food is pizza. Matthew’s favorite book is “Hatchet”, favorite TV show is “Bonanza” and favorite movie is “Where the Red Fern Grows.”
His dream vaca¬tion would be hunting and fishing in Alaska, and his ideal Saturday night would be hanging with the boys. His plans after high school are to go work for his dad and then get into taxidermy.
The Junior Class was represented by Bailey Short and Teyvon Harris.
Bailey is the daughter of Wes and Jeanenne Short. She has five older siblings, Derrick, Tyson, Heather, Madison, and Wyatt. She is in¬volved with cheerleading, FFA, and youth group. She enjoys hanging out with her friends and family.
This caring, trustworthy, and thoughtful junior says her ideal Saturday night would be watching her nieces and nephews and staying up late eating candy. Her favorite book is “A Walk to Remember”, TV show is “Criminal Minds” and her favorite movie is “10 Things I Hate About You.”
Bailey has stated that she would like to visit Amsterdam because of the architecture and so she can see the Anne Frank House. Her plans after high school include going to college to be a neurology nurse practitioner, get married, and start a family.
Teyvon is the son of Tasha Vanauken. He has one older sister named Jaden. He is involved with baseball and basketball. His hobbies include playing Fortnite, playing sports, watching Netflix, and drawing.
This funny, tall and wild junior has stat¬ed that if he were stranded on an island, he would want his PS4, his bed, and a fishing pole. His ideal Saturday night is doing laundry and playing Fortnite and Call of Duty. His favorite movie is “The Good Dinosaur”, favorite books are the Captain Underpants Series, and fa¬vorite TV show is “Big Mouth.”
Teyvon said he would like to go to China or Paris to try the food and see how beautiful it is. His plans for the fu¬ture include going to college, finding a good job and starting a family.
Representing the senior class were McKenna Nowak and Gianluca Fabiano.
McKenna is the daughter of Chad and Denise Nowak. She has two older brothers, Garrett and Graydon. She is involved with Track and student council.
She often enjoys playing sand vol¬leyball with her friends, and game nights with her family. This easy-go¬ing, considerate and understanding senior is on the record that her favorite food is spaghetti. Her ideal Saturday night would be a movie night with her friends. Her favorite TV show is “Gilmore Girls.”
If she was stranded on an island, she would bring a dog, a raft, and chocolate covered strawberries. Her plans for the future are going to college to become a physical therapist or cosmetologist. After that, she plans on settling down and starting a family.
Gianluca is the son of Massimo and Nicky Fabiano. During his time at Stryker, Gianluca has stayed busy with work and rolling in the money. He likes to spend his time working on vehicles. This tough, determined and hardworking senior has stated his favorite food is pasta.
If he were to be stranded on an island, he would like to bring his Jeep, sunglasses and a full tank of gas. If he were to take a dream vacation, Gianluca said he would like to go to Italy so he can see his family and swim in the sea. After graduating, he plans on starting up his own business fixing up cars.
The class of 2033 was ably represented by Mia Bell Mercer and Jaxson Oakley Frey.
Mia is the daughter of Cody and Amanda Mercer. She has one younger brother named Mason. She enjoys playing with her brother, and her dog Ruger, getting chocolate chip ice cream with sprinkles and a cherry on top, and getting Happy Meals.
Her favorite movie is “Hotel Transylvania” and her favorite food is hamburgers. If Mia could meet anybody in the world, it would be a famous ballerina because that’s what she wants to be when she grows up.
Crown bearer Jaxson is the son of Cody and Samantha Frey. He has one younger brother. He enjoys wrestling with his dad, making dinner with his mom, playing with his brother, building Legos, and launching rockets. His favorite movie is “The Grinch” and his favorite food is chicken wings.
When Jaxson grows up he would like to be an EMT. If he could meet anybody in the world, it would be Tony Stark so he could learn how to make a computer sys¬tem like Jarvis, and a special suit like Iron Man.
