Beth Rettig, the Stryker Treasure, spoke to the Stryker Rotary club at their regular meeting. Beth started in the position in October of 2013 but has previous experience doing similar work in West Unity, Alverton and Blakeslee. She has two sons and resides in West Jefferson. She is also involved in scouting in Montpelier and enjoys working with young people. She is a 1991 graduate of West Unity High School, and a 2006 graduate of Kent State University. Beth went on to get her masters in 2011 and is currently working toward her Treasures license. She said her office hours are from 8:30 to 4:30 weekdays. Beth said the General Fund in Stryker is low and the council continues to look for ways to curtail spending. She also stated this is a similar situation with many of the small villages in the area.
