Stryker Wins Tri-Meet At Bryan

September 2nd-BRYAN: Up against stiff competition in Holgate and Paulding, the Stryker Junior High Cross Country Team took first place at a tri-meet in Bryan involving 27 runners. The Panthers won the race, not by taking first place, but by putting forth the best collective effort.

The first Panther to finish the run, Izayah Ferguson took third place at 12:27. Teammate Logan Boetz followed up with a fourth place finish by running a 13:02. Emmanuel Villanueva finished in sixth on Stryker’s behalf with a time of 13:17. Claiming tenth place was Panthers runner Tristan Sampson, clocking in at 13:52.

Of the 31 girls running at the event, two of them represented Stryker. Abigail Grice earned third place for the Panthers at 16:40. Also running for the Stryker girls was Emily Banks, who took twelfth place thanks to her time of 24:13.
