Councilman Michael Disbrow recently submitted his resignation to village council. The resignation, which was read by Mayor Toeppe during the November 25th Council meeting, stated the following.

“Dear Mayor Toeppe, I am writing to inform you that I will be resigning from my position as a council member for the Village of Swanton.”

“I have been fortunate enough to be a part of this amazing team and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I have learned a lot and have grown both personally and professionally from being on council.”

“I have also had the opportunity to work with some incredible individuals. I hope that my efforts have made a positive impact on the village and its employees.”

“I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and guidance throughout my time as a council member. Please consider this letter as my formal resignation notice. Thank you again for everything. Sincerely, Mikey Disbrow.”

Mayor Toeppe then informed council that the Ohio Revised Code sets out a procedure for the appointment of a new council member.

Council has 30 days from the date of resignation to appoint a new member. If council does not complete the task, the job will fall to the mayor.
