WAUSEON: April 22 – Team strength is important in track and field. You cannot win team points if you do not compete in all the events. The more events missed, the more chances for points go by the boards. After their trip to take on NWOAL rival Wauseon on April 22, nobody can attest to the above better than the Swanton Lady Bulldogs.
The uphill battle against a larger Wauseon squad was compounded further for Swanton in the fact that the Lady Indians are a more polished and experienced team all around. When all was said and done, it was a slim nine points that separated Swanton from the ultimate ignominy as the Tribe humbled their visitors by a 119-9 score.
