A warm and sunny day for Fulton County’s third year having Family Fun Day at the fairgrounds. The event was held on the west side of the fairgrounds, and inside the Show Barn.
Fulton County Jobs and Family services began the event at 11:00 p.m. Marsha Horner, from Fulton County Jobs and Family Services, shared, “We hold this event to bring the community together and create a positive influence in the community.”
As parents and their children arrived to the Show Barn, they were greeted by Deb Oswald and Sarah Powers, with bags that had “Be The Village” written on them in support of Fulton County Foster Care.
With May being Public Assistance Awareness month, many community resource booths filled the barn with information, games, prizes and merchandise.
Booths held included, A Military Booth, JJ Safe House, Fulton County Health Center, The Center for Child Advocacy, Ohio Means Jobs, and many more.
Local Police Departments walked around greeting people with their K-9 Units, as well as the Fire Department, and introducing themselves.
Kids also got to meet Safety Pup, a child safety mascot who is a successful learning tool used by law enforcement and teachers across the world. Stripes the Clown made balloon animals and brought joy to young ones.
A bounce house and castle was placed outside and used by many. Also enjoyed was a small petting zoo with Alpacas, Goats, Mini Cattle and Sheep.
Guests were welcomed to a free lunch that included chips, walking tacos and cookies. Ice cold water bottles were also available.
Just outside of the fun inside the barn, Beauty and the Beast Princess, Belle, along with Spider-Man, were waiting to greet the children, and take pictures with them.
Belle hugged and talked to each child, and gave them an autographed picture. Spider-Man high-fived and hugged the young ones, also giving them an autographed picture.
Belle and Spider-Man said their goodbyes at 1:30, with the event coming to an end at 2:00 p.m.
