BRYAN – Last Wednesday at Bryan High School Zain Bell, Taysen Deckrosh, and Evan Cox signed their letters of intent to further their education and continue their athletic careers.
Deckrosh signed to play baseball at Bluffton University, Bell is headed to Otterbein University for wrestling, and Cox will be playing basketball at Terra State Community College.
For Deckrosh, he knew instantly that Bluffton was the school for him.
“Bluffton University because right as I stepped on to the campus it felt like it was the right place for me from the coaches to the players to the to the small-town atmosphere”, said Deckrosh.
“The coaches were very knowledgeable, and their coaching style seemed like they really cared about the players.”
“The players also seemed to be very welcoming and like they were a great group of guys, and I can’t wait to join in the fall.”
Deckrosh, who is leaning toward majoring in sports management, also visited Owens Community College and Defiance College before choosing Bluffton.
“I am very excited to continue my baseball and academic career at Bluffton and I cannot wait to see what the next four years hold for me.”
Evan Cox will be heading to Terra State Community College to continue his basketball career after a successful career at Bryan.
Cox, who plays for Hopson Elite AAU, has earned All-District Honorable Mention, NWOAL Honorable Mention, and scholar athlete distinction in his time at Bryan.
After taking eighth place this past winter at the state tournament, Zain Bell will be wrestling at Otterbein University.
Bell, also a four-year letterwinner in football in addition to wrestling, was a district champion this season for Bryan to go with his third-place finish at sectionals last year.
