Tyler Murrey (1993 – 2024)

Tyler W. Murrey, 31, of Liberty Center, Ohio died Saturday, November 16th, 2024.

Tyler was born May 1, 1993 in Toledo, Ohio to Paul and Jennifer (Snyder) Murrey. Tyler was a 2011 graduate of Liberty Center High School. He married Amy (Neiling) Murrey in 2016.

Tyler found his calling to serve the community that led him to attend the police academy at Northwest State Community College.

Upon completion of the police academy, Tyler joined the Napoleon Police Department as a patrol officer where he served his community for six years. In addition to being a patrol officer, Tyler was the department’s Firearms Instructor, Armorer, and was a member of the Warrant Entry Team.

Tyler was active in the Boy Scouts of America and proudly attained his Eagle Scout rank. He loved spending time exploring the family property with his daughters, Addie and Ella.

Tyler is survived by his wife, Amy; daughters, Addie and Ella; parents, Paul and Jennifer Murrey; siblings, Kayla and Andrew Murrey; paternal grandmother, Mary Jane Murrey, maternal grandmother, Becky Snyder; uncles, Bill Murrey and Chuck (Darla) Snyder; and cousins, Lydia Carpenter, Gwyneth Murrey, and Malia Murrey. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Murrey and aunt, Marie Murrey.

An open visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21st from 3:00-8:00 PM for all those who wish to attend. On Friday, November 22nd, there will be open visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM. Immediately following visitation, there will be a celebration of life at 11:00 AM for family, friends, and first responders. All arrangements are entrusted to Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home in Napoleon, Ohio

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tyler Murrey Memorial Fund at any Civista Bank location. All memorials contributed will be used to benefit Amy, Addie, and Ella with future expenses and education.
