VARSITY FOOTBALL: Van Wert Answers Early Bryan Score With 35 Unanswered Points In 42-7 Win

Van Wert 42, Bryan 7

BRYAN- Van Wert exploded for 35 unanswered points Friday night as the Cougars defeated Bryan, 42-7, for their ninth consecutive win between the two schools.

The Golden Bears (0-1) tied the game at 7-7, when freshman quarterback Jake Arnold connected with Easton Kerr on a 31-yard scoring pass in the first half.


Arnold completed 10 of 15 passes for 150 yards after entering the game in the first half.

Jacob Uran had three catches for 45 yards to lead Bryan while Aaden Wallace had four catches for 40 yards. Cade Carlin had 28 yards rushing for the Golden Bears.

Van Wert quarterback Zach Crummey threw for 215 yards and two TD’s and rushed for 85 yards and two more scores. Xavier Kelly had 142 yards on the ground for the Cougars.


Bryan begins a four-game road trip Friday at Bowling Green.
