Montpelier 7, Delta 6
DELTA – Montpelier pulled off a thrilling 7-6 non-league victory over Delta as the Locomotives scored two runs in the top half of the seventh inning before holding off the Panthers, who had also scored twice in the bottom of the inning.
Zoe Uribes led Montpelier (4-5) with three hits, including a double and an RBI. Ashlyn Harter had two hits, including a double, and Maggie Jacob singled twice and drove in a run.
Ellie Martinez led Delta (3-6) with three singles. Mackenzie Clapp, Jayden Westmeyer and Gracyn Pelton all contributed with two hits apiece.
Neriah Thorp was the winning pitcher for Montpelier, allowing four runs on eight hits with three strikeouts in four innings.
