The Wauseon History Manor held their Valentine’s Tea event on Saturday, February 17th. The Manor, located at 229 Monroe Street in Wauseon, is owned by the Fulton County Historical Society. The manor had once been Wauseon High School and used to be a lot bigger many years ago.

The event is presented by the Museum of Fulton County and registered guests are invited to gather with friends to enjoy tea, tasty treats, and romantic stories from days-gone-by.

The event hosted around 45 people in total and had three different time slots during the day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with each being an hour long. The tea was a traditional English tea served with three different courses: finger sandwiches, scones, and dessert.

The event has been taking place since approximately 2016 and is a fundraiser where all money raised goes to the museum.

When the tea events first started taking place back in 2016, the manor held them outside on the front porch until there was room to hold them inside the manor.

“This is a wonderful place to take a step back in time and sit with your friends to socialize and remember things from the past. Nowadays people just go through a Starbucks instead of taking time to socialize,” said Doris Piercefield.

The manor will be holding a Mother’s Day Tea on May 11, 2024. People can register for this event online at www.museumoffultoncounty.org and clicking on events.
