The Wauseon Indians were hoping to get off on the right foot in their first ever NWOAL league race that started in Delta. But the Panthers had different plans as they defeated the Indians 4-3.
The Panthers wasted little time in digging the Indians into a hole with three quick goals in the first half of the game. It was Wauseon’s job for the rest of the rainy, wet match to try to come back from three goals down to win.
Leo Rendon provided the spark for the Tribe as the high flying junior scored all of Wauseon’s goals. After the Panthers had built a 4-1 lead, Rendon tried to carry the game on his shoulders by scoring two second half goals. His final net finder came with 7:30 left in the contest, but time ran out on the Tribe after that and they now stand 0-1 in the inaugural league race.
