(June 1st, 2015) – AYERSVILLE: Wauseon opened their ACME season in a difficult way, taking on the Pilots of Ayersville. Coming off a District Semi-Final loss to a Hicksville team that advanced to the State equivalent, the Pilot boys had already proven themselves a force with which to be reckoned.

The Indians also had a strong season in the Spring, however, also losing a tough contest to a state-ranked Bryan squad in dramatic comeback fashion. Beginning the ACME season against such a quality opponent would likely prove to be a decent measuring stick for how the team will perform over the Summer and possibly into next Spring.

The contest was a close one, with baseball powers from the Northwestern Ohio Athletic League and Green Meadows Conference trading blows in a defensive struggle. Wauseon fell just short of taking down Ayersville, however.

The Indians fell to the Pilots 2-1.

Carter Bzovi, despite a tremendous effort at the mound, was the losing pitcher.
