Wauseon Schools Receive Highest Possible Rating For 2015 ODE Special Education Report

September 3, 2015Updated:November 30, 2016No Comments1 Min Read

Every year, our district receives a rating on the performance of our special education program. In past years, this was our Special Education Determination This year, it is renamed our Special Education Rating. The Ohio Department of Education uses final data that our district submits through the Education Management Information System (EMIS). This data results in one of four ratings — Meets Requirements, Needs Assistance, Needs Intervention, or Needs Substantial Intervention. Wauseon’s 2015 Special Education Rating is Meets Requirements. The primary basis of this rating is the final special education program data our district submitted through EMIS for the 2013-2014 school year.

Measures of procedural compliance are historically the basis of our rating Starting in 2017, our special education rating also will include measures of results for students with disabilities. If student results indicators were included this year, our district’s rating would be Meets Requirements.

Our rating report includes our district’s data and corresponding points for each indicator included in our actual and projected rating.

Congratulations to our staff and students for this rating of high compliance and achievement.
