Wauseon Takes Down Montpelier

(September 23rd, 2014)-WAUSEON: Playing host to NWOAL foe Montpelier, the Lady Indians of Wauseon were able to take down the visiting team in straight sets.

Montpelier struggled in game 1, dropping the set 12-25. They regrouped for game 2, but still couldn’t keep pace with the Indians, losing the set 17-25. Game 3 was a carbon copy of game 1, with Wauseon taking the set and the match 25-12.

Kierra Fountain made 6 kills, 6 digs, 5 aces, and 2 blocks to help elevate Wauseon to the victory. Fellow Indian Morgan Roth served up 13 assists along with 2 kills and 2 blocks. Sariah Yackee had 12 digs and 4 aces in the win as well.

Sidney Houk led the Locos in both kills and digs with 5 and 17, respectively. She also had 11 assists. Landri McKelvey had 12 assists herself, as well as 11 digs and a kill.
