The Williams County Genealogical Society met on September 10, 2012 for pot luck at the Harmon Room of the West Annex of the Bryan Public Library. There was plenty of good food, sharing and laughter about our summer experiences. The coming events for the year were announced. Watch for future articles informing the public, which is invited, to hear exciting speakers, join in computer classes and even start scrapbook your genealogy.
The next meeting will be October 8, 2012 at 6:30pm in the Harmon Room of the West Annex to the Bryan Public Library, Bryan, OH. The guest speaker for the evening will be Chuck Eberle from Van Wert, OH. His topic will be “A Visit with General Lee”. Chuck’s grandpa Lee was a first cousin to Robert E. Lee. Chuck is an impersonator of Robert E. Lee. He will be bring many artifacts that a soldier would carry on his person during the war like money, stamps and many other items for us to view. Come, bring a friend and hear from “General Lee” what it was like for the soldiers during the Civil War.
The purpose of WCGS is the preservation of county records and family research. Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, excluding July and August, at 6:30pm, in the conference room of the West Annex of the Bryan Public Library. The public is invited for all the meetings.
