Webster Gary Steele, 74 years, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance. Webster was born April 6, 1946, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Wilbur James and Lila Faye (Burkhart) Steele.
The family moved to Van Wert, Ohio when he was one month old. The family moved to School in Bryan. He was a 1964 graduate of Penta County.
Due to a tragic car accident, Webster was electrocuted at the age of 23, which caused disabilities. He was a Christian man. Gary was an avid Michigan Wolverine fan and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving is his other, Lila F. Steele of Bryan; two brothers, Drew Steele of Bryan and Gene Steele of Bryan; one sister, Pam Shaffer of Bryan, Ohio; one niece, Dr. Tawni (Ryan) Cashon of Westerville, Ohio; one nephew, Drew Robert Shaffer of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur.
There will be no visitation and private family services will be held. Interment will be made in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 225 East High Street, Bryan.
