The Legion Riders of the Junior Wyse West Unity American Legion Post #669 were on the road over the weekend of August 21, delivering double Blue Star Banners in rural Lockport on August 21, and in Pioneer on August 22.

On August 21, the rolling thunder of the Legion Riders could be heard coming down County Road 21-N to the home of Don and Janet Buehrer, where they would be presenting double Blue Star Banners in recognition of Janet’s sons, Jacob Trejo (above) who just returned from deployment, and his brother Justin who is on active duty.

On August 22, the Legion Riders were joined by members of the Eagle Riders and other riders from Michigan. Meeting at Hudson Leather, when their kickstands went up, they were escorted into Pioneer by units of the Pioneer Police Department. The Police units blocked off the southern end of the 200 block of Norris Street, as the Legion Riders and guests came in from the North Avenue intersection, filling the entire block with bikes.

The mission was to welcome home Brandon Dummitt (below) from deployment in Afghanistan and Kuwait, and to also honor his wife, Hailee Dummitt who has been on reserve at home, tending to their children, Isabella and Bishop with the presentations of double Blue Star Banners in recognition of their service.
