IMG_3564West Unity troop 669 had a great time on May 1st to the 3rd when we attended the Black Swamp Council Spring Camperee at Camp Lakota in Defiance. The troop participated in many events and did very well. Some of the events where a knot tying relay, fire building, starting a fire with flint and steal, and even starting fires by friction. the boys also volunteered for service time by cleaning up the chapel at camp so it was ready for the religious service Saturday night. at the end of the very busy day Saturday there was a camp wide campfire program that all the troops had a hand in putting on skit and songs for all to enjoy. We would like to take this time to give a special thanks to Steve Oeckly for putting on this great program and to all those who helped we had a great time! If scouting sounds like fun to you and you want to check it out please contact us at 419-553-6782.
