WILLIAMS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: Short-Term Child Placement Assistance Approved By Commissioners’ Office

AUGUST SCHEDULE … The Williams County Commissioners are set to meet August 14 at 9:30 a.m., August 17 at 10:30 a.m., August 21 at 9 a.m., August 24 at 9 a.m., and August 31 at 9 a.m.

The week of August 7th saw two Williams County Commissioners general sessions, the first on the 7th, and the second on the 10th.

The first meeting saw the approval of the minutes from the August 4, 2023 session as presented, the bills as presented, and the approval of four resolutions.


The first resolution passed this last week was Resolution 23-0239, which approved supplemental appropriations for the Williams County Common Pleas Court, Commissioners, and Engineer.

Resolution 23-0240 approved a grant agreement for the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Program implementation.

Then passed was Resolution 23-0241, which approved a MOU (memorandum of understanding) for the funding of local area workforce development operation and system implementation.

The last resolution passed during the Monday session was Resolution 23-0242, which allowed Job and Family Services to enter into a software agreement with SigBee, Inc.


The Thursday session saw the approval of the credit card appropriations for August, approval of travel requests, a right of way work permit for equipment replacement off of County Road 17, a title signing for the County Road 22 Reclamation Project No. 7, the minutes of the August 7, 2023 meeting, the bills as presented, and two resolutions.

Resolution 23-0243 approved supplemental appropriations for the Williams County Common Pleas Court, Engineer, Sanitary Engineer, and Sheriff’s Office.

Resolution 23-0244 approved a policy change allowing those who take on short-term placement children that need an alternative caregiver to receive financial assistance for the caregiving term.

The Commissioners are set to meet the following times in general session at 1425 East High Street for the month of August: 14th, 9:30 a.m.; 17th, 10 a.m.; 21st, 9 a.m.; 24th, 9 a.m.; 28th, 9 a.m.; and 31st, 9 a.m.
