PHOTO BY ANNA WOZNIAK / THE VILLAGE REPORTER EXTENSION … The property off of High Street in West Unity was granted an extension, with the new completion date being May 15th. This decision was made largely due to the wet weather conditions experienced throughout the county lately.

The Williams County Port Authority met on April 17th at noon in special session, moving first to approve the minutes from their April 3, 2024 meeting.

Present were members Sean Rupp, Richard Reed, Tyson Stuckey, Dawn Fitzcharles, chair David Newcomer, Bill Martin, and clerk Ashley Epling. Member Stacy Lillard was absent.

They then detailed the plans to extend construction on the West Unity High Street property to May 15th, mostly due to poor weather. They then voted to enter into executive session, returning at 12:14 p.m.

The meeting was with representatives Tyson Moss from State Bank and Dan Clark from F&M, with no action taken afterwards.

The conversation was oriented around creating an outline for a formal proposal on terms, conditions, and potential benefits of a partnership between the banks and the WCPA.

At 12:16 p.m., the members voted to enter into a second executive session, after which the decision was made on the King Street in Stryker property to rescind the construction contract and start the process to put it out for bid again.
