Winter Sports Roundup For January 13th, 2022

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Evergreen 71 Delta 58

DELTA – Bekah Bowser had 10 of her game-high 24 points during a decisive third quarter as Evergreen (8-5, 2-1 NWOAL) pulled away for the 71-58 victory.

Bowser, who drilled six-three pointers on the night, was joined in double figures by Lucy Serna with 13 and Macy Chamberlin had 11.

Grace Munger had 17 (14 in the second half) to lead Delta (3-10, 1-2 NWOAL) and Sophia Burres registered 12.

LIBERTY CENTER – The Indians led 36-22 after three quarters and were able to hold off the Tigers (8-6, 2-1 NWOAL) in final quarter despite LC knocking down four 3-pointers in the final frame to close the gap.

Marisa Seiler topped the scoring column for Wauseon (10-3, 2-1 NWOAL) with 17 and Hayley Meyer added 11 on the night.

HAMLER – Kya Seemann had 16 and Karsyn Weber added 13 as Patrick Henry (2-11, 1-2 NWOAL) knocked off Swanton for their first NWOAL win of the season. Alaina Pelland led the Swanton (8-6, 0-3 NWOAL) with six buckets for 12 points.

ARCHBOLD –Bryan (12-2, 3-0 NWOAL) made ten treys as a team with Reese Grothaus accounting for five on her way to 17 points in Bryan’s dominating performance at Archbold.

Addie Arnold hit 3-pointers of her own and finished with 14 for the Golden Bears. Sophie Rupp, Harley Phillips, and Alivia Rodriguez had four points each to top Archbold (9-6, 1-2 NWOAL).

PIONEER – North Central (7-6, 2-0 BBC) was 13/24 from 2-point range and 16/34 overall in a 44-25 BBC victory over the Blackbirds.

Two Eagles reached double digits on the night led by Madison Brown’s 19 and Lauren Balser had 10. Pettisville (2-12, 0-3 BBC) was topped in scoring by Alli King with five.

Montpelier 35 Holgate 31

MONTPELIER – The Locos (12-2, 3-0 BBC) remained unbeaten in the BBC with a hard-fought 35-31 win over Holgate at The Railyard.

Abigail Wurm

Montpelier’s Chelsea McCord tallied 14 points to lead all scorers while Holgate (6-9, 2-1 BBC) was paced by Justine Eis with 12.

Pettisville Missionary Church

FAYETTE – Hilltop (8-5, 2-0 BBC) led 38-17 at halftime and then held Fayette (0-14, 0-3 BBC) scoreless in the third quarter and they rolled past Fayette 57-28.

Libbie Baker fronted the Cadets with 19 points and Lana Baker had three field goals and was 5/6 at the free throw line for 11 points.

Gracee Bingman buried five triples and added a pair of two-pointers for a game-high 21 points to lead the Eagles.

SHERWOOD – Kelly Crites dropped 23 points and had nine steals as Fairview (9-6, 2-1 GMC) steamrolled Edgerton in a GMC contest. Grace Schroeder and Casey Everetts had five points apiece for Edgerton (2-12, 0-3 GMC).
