2Masters, a Netherlands-based company specializing in custom polymer masterbatches, is preparing to launch its first U.S. operations in Williams County, Ohio. Founded in 2013 by brothers Dinand and Erwin Tijhuis, the company develops and builds its own machinery in-house to deliver highly tailored, dust-free granules.
Their products are designed for flexibility and efficiency, offering a wide range of items to suit different production lines.
Sustainability is also central to the company’s mission; its headquarters in Nijerdal operates out of a nearly zero-energy building powered by renewable sources.
According to the Williams County Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO), 2Masters will locate its new facility in an existing building just outside of Pioneer.
While a timeline for the official start of production has not yet been announced, the operation is expected to begin on a smaller scale.
Ashley Epling, with WEDCO, confirmed in response to an inquiry that the new site is expected to employ around 11 local workers. Currently, the search for a Production and Plant Manager is being conducted.
The selected candidate will have the unique opportunity to travel to the Netherlands for training at the parent company.
The expansion marks an important milestone for 2Masters as it enters the U.S. market. Though many details regarding the company’s long-term plans for Pioneer remain forthcoming, local leaders view the investment as a positive development for the community.
