WEST UNITY … The Pettisville Blackbirds raised their season record to 5-3 / 4-1 by dealing the Hilltop Cadet eighth grade boys a 31-30 overtime heartbreaker on December 21.
Pettisville jumped out to an early lead, and expanded the advantage to six at the half. The Cadet Cadre mounted a second half rally, and sent the game into overtime by forcing a 28-28 tie at the end of regulation. The rally ran out of gas in the extra frame though as the Birds outgunned the hometown boys 3-2 to come away with the BBC win.
Justin Rupp and Dillon King led the Pettisville efforts, while Suboski and Riley led the Cadets.
