Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Receives Grant

Chief Deputy Roy E. Miller announced Tuesday, October 9, 2012, that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a High Visibility Enforcement Grant from the Office of Criminal Justice Services which is a division of the Ohio Department of Public Safety. The Sheriff’s Department was awarded $30,942.74 which will pay for deputy’s salaries during the enforcement periods. Deputies will be focusing on speeding, safety restraints and impaired driving to reduce the number of traffic related crashes and deaths. The grant is funded from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013.

Chief Deputy Miller and deputies are dedicated to protecting the citizens of Fulton County and the motorists who travel through it. This grant will allow extra patrol to enforce traffic laws that will increase the safety of motorists on the roadways in areas that are prone to higher numbers of serious and fatal crashes. The dates and times will be announced.

The first High Visibility Enforcement will in the northeast area of Fulton County. This will take place on October 27, 2012 from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.  Deputies patrolling this area will be looking for motorist who violates traffic laws along with impaired drivers.
