Hilltop Lady Cadets Defeat Stryker Lady Panthers At Home 9-3

WEST UNITY: April 21– The Hilltop Lady Cadets, behind the pitching of Jessica Suboski, took down the Stryker Panthers at home on April 21 by the score of 9-3 to remain perfect in the BBC at 5-0 on the season.

Suboski went the distance for the Lady cadets, throwing 7 innings, allowing just 9 hits and 3 runs on the afternoon, walking just 2 batters while fanning 3 Lady Panthers.

At the plate on the day for the Lady Cadets, Brittany Mocherman showed her senior power by going 2 for 4 on the game, with 4 RBI’s; Sydney Schmitt had a huge day, going 3 for 3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored while sister Allie Schmitt had a big day as well, going 2 for 4, including a double while stealing a base and driving in 2 RBI’s. Bailey Funkhouser went 1 for 2 while crossing the plate 2 times; Hannah Bleikamp went 2 for 3 including a double, with an RBI in the game while Brooke Chapin recorded an RBI as well.

For the Lady Panthers. Conner Varner was tagged with the loss, going the full 6 innings in the game, allowing 9 runs off of 13 hits while advancing 4 by walk in the game. Varner was also credited with 1 strikeout. At the plate, Varner connected for a double while crossing the plate for a run; Miranda Pegorch blasted out a double and scored 1 run, while Emily Caldwell crossed the plate for Stryker rounding out the scoring. Conner Sullivan Taylor Haines, Sierra Walters, Emma Shindledecker, Megan Neville and Tasha Pegorch all hit in the game, but the Panthers could not get runners across the plate.

Hilltop moves to 5-0 in the BBC while moving to 7-3 overall on the season. Stryker falls to 2-3 in the BBC and 4-5 on the year.
