Hilltop Cadets Fall To Evergreen In Home Non-League Action 4-2

WEST UNITY: April 25– The Hilltop Cadets played host to the NWOAL’s Evergreen Vikings on April 25, falling in a tight 4-2 game that saw Evergreen post 3 runs in the 7th to take the 4-0 lead before Hilltop trimmed the lead to 4-2 in the bottom half of the inning, but the Cadets came up just short.

On the mound for Hilltop, Chad Champion took the loss, allowing 4 runs off of 4 hits. Champion also sat down 7 hitters on the day. Logan Brooker also saw action, throwing 1 inning in the loss.

Offensively in the loss, Justin Grapengeter connected for a double, going 2 for 4 from the plate. Also hitting in the game for the Cadets, Champion, Miklo Abner, Zach Rohrs, Quinn Smith and Jessie Westfall made contact getting on base with singles in the defeat.
