Pettisville Girls Finish Fifth, Boys Eleventh At Defiance Early Bird Invitational

imagesAmid 151 runners, the Lady Blackbirds of Pettisville finished in fifth place overall at the Defiance Early Bird Invitational held on August 23.

The Lady Blackbird attack was led by dual top ten finishers Elizabeth Sauder and Alexa Leppelmeier.  Sauder, who finished fourth, ran a 21:09.  With only five seconds of separation, Leppelmeier’s time of 21:14 landed her in sixth place.  Nichole Foor came in eleventh place with her 21:48.

Other notable finishes at the event include Wauseon in second place and North Central in fifteenth place.

The Pettisville boys also competed in the Invitational, with 181 runners in attendance, finishing eleventh place overall.

Kyle Lantz was the fifth runner to cross the finish line, running a 17:31.  Teammate Jacob Hauter was close behind, finishing fourteenth with an 18:08.  Ben Gray came in seventy-eighth place, clocking a 20:38.


Other notable finishes at the Invitational include Wauseon in fourth place, Fayette in eighth place, and North Central in seventeenth place.
