Swanton Village Council Hires New Administrative Assistant

Agenda and minutes for the previous meeting, Swanton Village Council voted to approve the Second Reading of an Ordinance declaring the necessity to assess all properties in the Village of Swanton, for the cost of leaf collection, approving plans, establishing tentative assessments and method of payment.

They also approved the Second Reading of an Ordinance declaring the necessity to assess all properties in the Village of Swanton for the cost of street lighting, approving plans, establishing tentative assessments, and method of payment.

Committee reports were given by Water and Sewer Committee and Finance Committee. Everything discussed in Committees, reported by Department Heads, and/or explained in her report by Village Administrator Rosanna Hoeltle was approved.

The Membrane project is moving forward, Project 8 & 9 Sewer Separation as well ( this will be a very, very large project), and Council took the Committee’s recommendation and advised moving forward with the AMI option for the water meter update.


Swancreek Township donated eight (8) full sets of turn out gear to the Fire Department. Councilman Dave Pilliod was appointed liaison to the Historical Society project committee.

After going into Executive Session to discuss the hiring of a public employee, Council voted to approve the hiring of Olivia Pasternak as an Administrative Assistant I.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
