The Fayette Village Council Meeting took place on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 with Mayor David Borer presiding. Councilors present were President Rodney Kessler, David Wheeler, Suzette Boesger, Kimberly Priestap and Chris Meeker.

The mayor read thank you notes from 2 residents. Beverly Conroy sent a donation and thanked the Police Department for their work calling them a blessing. The family of Linda Opdycke thanked the Police Department for the funeral escort to the cemetery.

Village Administrator, Genna Biddix, noted that the utility payment portal as is being rebuilt and will look a little different due to the stated fees not being collected.

She stressed that the residents who have used the portal this month will not be charged any additional fees due to the mistake.

Genna remarked on how well the original portal was received by village residents. The site has only been running since April 1, 2021 and should be repaired soon. The Village will not be billed for the first month of service.

The Village Administrator also noted that 20 new locations were identified for the upcoming asphalt repair project and that additional funds would be required.

She added that shifting funds from other projects may be possible and she will research and identify the best solution.

An ordinance authorizing a cooperative agreement for planning of a water distribution project between the Village of Fayette and the Ohio Water Distribution Authority was announced.

The Public Works Committee will submit the project to the OWDA on Monday, May 1, 2021.

Participation in the Ohio Department of Transportation road salt contracts awarded in 2021 was approved as well as an ordinance to increase estimated village revenues. Additionally, supplemental appropriations for current village expenses were approved.

Finally, a resolution to approve the Joint Solid Waste Management Plan Update for the Joint Solid Waste Management District of Defiance, Fulton, Paulding and Williams Counties was unanimously accepted.
