JUST THE RIGHT COLORS …Dail Fritsch, recently retired Montpelier Fire Chief, was pleased at a presentation on April 29, 2021, with the lap blanket made specifically for him by Gloria Poorman with bright red and light orange stripes. Poorman presented the blanket to Fritsch at a ceremony where he also was given three Awards of Appreciation, one from the American Legion, one from the VFW and one for 50 Years in the American Legion. SURPRISE! … Montpelier Police Chief Dan McGee was surprised at the American Legion/VFW meeting held on April 29, 2021 to discover that he was there for more than he thought. He had come because he knew Stephanie Miles was being given an award, only to discover that he was also being honored and thanked for his services to the community. In this picture he was being given a Certificate from the VFW by Commander Denny Keesbury, thanking him for Coaching in Little League Baseball, serving in the Military Militia for National Disasters and for his position in the Police Department. He was also given a Certificate by the VFW and a blanket made by Gloria Poorman all in military colors.

A BIG THANK YOU … American Legion 2020 Commander Bob Wurm was happy to present the Certificate from the American Legion to Montpelier PD Officer Stephanie Miles. She was also presented with a certificate from the VFW and a blanket made by Gloria Poorman in PD colors blue, black and white. All were presented to her on April 29, 2021 at the American Legion/VFW meeting in appreciation for all she does in the community, not only in the Police Department but as the High School SRO, Girl Scout Leader and Cheerleading Coach. She is very involved in the community in other ways and they wanted her to know they really appreciate all she does.
