During a special board meeting held on May 30, 2021, Wauseon Exempted Board of Education adopted a Resolution “Authorizing the Board President, Superintendent and Treasurer to sign, as authorized, a contract between the Board and Advanced Concepts, Inc. and any related documents, to document the award of the replacement of the Wauseon Primary School roof, gutter and downspout as presented.”

The base bid has been awarded to Advanced Concepts in the amount of $317,750. The bid for the gutters and downspouts has been awarded to Advance Concepts in the amount of $17,585, with the total being $335,335.

They also adopted a Resolution “requesting Certification of Alternative Tax rates for an Income Tax” stating in the long version of the resolution that “the Board determines that it is necessary to pursue an income tax to raise annually the sum of $4, 017, 685 for the purpose of providing for current expenses and permanent improvements for the School District for a period of five years.”

Also passed was a Resolution of a renewal of an existing tax “Submitting to the Electors of the School District, the question of an additional 1.0 mill tax for Purpose of the current expenses of the Wauseon Public Library, pursuant to O.R.C. Section 5702.23.”

The County Auditor “certified that the total current tax valuation of the School District is $226,677,030 and the dollar amount of revenue that would be generated by a 1.0 mill tax levy would be $199,314 annually during the life of the levy, assuming that the total current tax valuation remains the same thought the life of the levy.”

Following the passage of these three resolutions, the meeting adjourned. The next BOE meeting will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. at the BOE office.
