The Wauseon Farmers Market came back to town this Saturday after a year off. The farmers market is located just north of the train tracks on the east side of Fulton Street downtown. It features vendors of all kinds as well as live music.
This week’s vendors included Sunshine Dogs with hotdogs, breakfast foods, pulled pork, t-shirts and more as well as Gardening Jem, Special Grounds Coffee Company, Cotton Candy Galore, What’s Your Word, Jeff Smucker with Honey, Apple Butter and Maple Syrup from Gary Smith.
Heavenly Hounds Doggy Delights was also there as well as Susie’s Crafts, Beth Aeschliman with assorted wooden flower arrangements, Patriot Pine Products LLC with made to order customized wooden flags, Cookies by the Dozen Plus, Yackee Farms and Sales, Turkey Foot Creek Creamery and Kyira’s Bakery.
Customers can find quality items from each vendor and can buy with the knowledge that the money stays local. With Buckeye Brownies from Cookies by the Dozen Plus, Fresh Produce from Yackee Farms and locally ground coffee that also supports Sara’s Garden from Special Grounds Coffee Company there is something for everyone at the Wauseon Farmers Market.
Jim Kerr is the Wauseon Downtown Association’s President and organizer for the Farmers Market. “The Farmers Market here is over a decade old. It has a long history of people coming out to support our local artists, gardeners, farmers, bakers and many others that come to be here.”
“The most beautiful thing about the market is the vendors and all their personal creations they bring and the smiles we get to see.” Jim said. John Reichle has been coming to the farmers market in Wauseon for 3 to 4 years now performing all kinds of different styles of music. “I have a good time every time,” said John.
There are good times to be had and good things to buy at the Farmers Market in Wauseon. It is open every Saturday from 8:30AM until Noon and will continue until the end of September.
July 24th will see no Farmers Market with the Homecoming being downtown, but it will be back the following week.
