Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost—a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.
Over 300 students from North Central elementary participated in an act of kindness generating $1,740 that they donated to the Pioneer Fire Department.
The students walked down E. Lynn St. with a fire truck leading the way on Friday, Sept 10th, around 1:50 pm. When they reached the Fire Department, several parents, grandparents, and other family members were there along with the firefighters.
Everyone held an American Flag. They said The Pledge of Allegiance and sang “America the Beautiful.”
Mrs. Ashley Stewart’s 1st grade class raised the most pocket change, raising $162.14. Great job to all kids. Everyone did a fantastic job collecting change.
The smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest impact. And that is exactly what happened today.
