(September 4th, 2014)-FAYETTE: In their first battle for the Buckeye Border, the Junior High Lady Cadets of Hilltop were each able to secure a conference win early into the season against Fayette.
After opening the year with three straight losses, the Hilltop Eighth Graders were finally able to achieve a win against the Lady Eagles. The road to victory was not an easy one, however. Gaining an advantage in the match by winning a hard fought game 1, 25-16, the second set was a battle for Hilltop. Fayette rallied in an effort to force a third game, but fell short 19-25, giving the Lady Cadets that first win of the season.
Earlier in the evening, the Seventh Grade Cadets and Eagles squared off. Unable to keep pace with their Hilltop counterparts, the Fayette girls fell behind early into the match and ever quite recovered. Losing the first set 8-25, the Lady Eagles dropped game 2 10-25.
