Archbold Village Council began at 5:30 p.m. on April 4, 2022. Mayor Brad Grime started Monday’s meeting off with a moment of silence.
The meeting proceeded with Council approving minutes from the previous meeting on March 21, 2022, and Bills and Payroll in the amount of $207,986.91.
With no public present to comment, Mayor Grime announced an Arbor Day Proclamation for the month of April. Arbor Day, which in its Latin translation means “tree day,” is on April 29, 2022.
This day is for a celebration of planting, caring for, and education of trees and why they are important.
The following two items were approved by Council:
•Resolution 2022-27, Authorizing Participation in the ODOT Road Salt Contract Awarded in 2022 and Declaring an Emergency.
•Ordinance 2022-28, An Ordinance for the Annual Adoption of all Codified Ordinances of the Village of Archbold Retroactive to January 1, 2022 and Declaring an Emergency.
During Reports of Wastewater Rate Comparison, Council Member Vaughn Bentz shared, “we’re second lowest in the area of water rates and it’s pretty significant.”
Council looked over the May 3, 2022 Ballot Issue List that includes Archbold, Evergreen and Swanton Local School District Income Tax and Property tax.
Voters will also vote on Property Tax for the Fulton County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Village of Delta and Clinton Township, and Village of Archbold Income Tax.
With no comments from Council, the meeting was adjourned at 5:42 p.m.
