St. Paul’s United Methodist Church has been serving the Montpelier community for over one hundred and eighty years.

Many of the ways they serve include local, national, and world-wide missions, helping provide coats to the schools for those in need, and assisting the Montpelier Foundation along with countless other things.

In this case, they held their annual chicken dinner, which will help raise money for the churches many acts of service.

On Friday, June 17, on a hot and windy day, members and volunteers from St. Paul’s worked hard to provide a successful meal, which was served from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m.

Cars arrived through the alley next to the church, to the south parking lot where they were served in their vehicles. With a line wrapped around the building, tickets were sold out shortly after four o’clock.

Meals were ten dollars, and included a large piece of Port-A-Pit chicken, baked beans, potato salad, a roll and cookies or brownies. For a free will donation, home made ice cream was also available.

Volunteer and dedicated church member, Cindy Clark, shared, “We are looking forward to being able to provide a fun evening for people in the community.”

Clark added, “thank you to all the men and women of the church who worked hard for this.”
