The Pike-Delta-York Local School District Board of Education met in regular session on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pike-Delta-York Middle School.
President Alice Simon called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the following board members present: Alice Simon, Tim Bower, Dan Elliott, Jenna Holzhauer and Kelly Valentine.
Superintendent Ted Haselman, CFO/Treasurer Matt Feasel the administrative staff and approximately 50 guests were in attendance.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by those in attendance.
Minutes from the previous meeting on October 19 were approved following a unanimous vote.
The Delta board recognized Elementary School Student of the Month, Kolten Harper who is in second grade.
The Middle School Student of the Month recognized was Caroline Hernandez-Cortez, who is in sixth grade.
The High School Student of the Month was awarded to Wyatt Gibbons, who is a sophomore.
The following fall athletic students and coaches were recognized: Jeremiah Wolford, James Ruple, Holden Barnes, Phil Smithers, Justin Ruple, Bryar Knapp, Luke Schlatter, Conner Bates, Ethan Funk, Maverick Mercer, Caleb Lantz, Paige Hosler, Troy Hilton, Sydnie Whitinger, Konnor Hawkins, Dan Sintobin, Eli Armstrong, Josilyn Welch, Sydney Churchill, Khloe Weber, Nolan Risner, Eli Mora, Max York, Brodie Roth, Bryce Gillen, Luke Reinhard, Cooper Tenney, Cayden Mignin, Ella Demaline, Teagan Postlewait, Skylar Boulton, Emma Deffenbaugh, Adrianna Dunning, Kendall Sprow, Adam Mattin, Slade Young, Layla Stickley, Kalleigh Mignin, Leigh Morris, Paige Triana – Girls Soccer Coach, Kevin “KJ” Abair – Boys Soccer Coach
Also recognized was the boys soccer team for being sectional champs and district runner-up, and Josilyn Welch for being an OHSAA state cross country qualifier.
The October financial report and November five-year forecast were approved by the board.
As a part of Superintendent Ted Haselman’s report, the board approved the recommendation allowing Delta High School students in grades 9, 10, & 12 to participate in asynchronous remote learning day/ activity on March 1, 2023.
Students in the 11th grade will report to the school building for ACT testing. All staff will report as normal.
Next item on the agenda was board business, to which the Delta Board of Education extended the contract of CFO/Treasurer Matt A. Feasel for an additional five years.
Administrative staff was also granted the ability to choose the health insurance plan of their choice.
Pike-Delta-York Board of Education entered an executive session at 8:14 p.m. to discuss the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of an employee or the investigation of charges or complaints against an employee, official, licensee or student.
Following the executive session, the meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
