The Bryan City Council met on September 5th, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Present was CFO / Treasurer John Lehner, Mayor Carrie Schlade, Council President Richard Hupe, Council Vice President Judy Yahraus, John Betts, and Mary Leatherman, with Councilor Jim Kozumplik absent.

After the pledge of allegiance, council approved the minutes of the August 21, 2023 meeting as presented.

Resolution 46-2023 then had the rules suspended and passed. This resolution allows three officers to attend a training session hosted by the Department of Homeland Security, provided by a collaborative that costs $500 annually.

With nothing further to address, the Bryan City Council then went into recess at 5:33 p.m. until their 6:15 p.m. joint executive session with the Bryan Board of Public Affairs.

Following the executive session, the hire of a new HR Director that will work in the Clerk / Treasurer’s Office was approved.
