The Lyons Village Council held their meeting on Monday, November 6th. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Council approved the minutes from the previous meeting, reading of the bills as well as finance reports.

Next came the Employee Report, in the report it was noted that striping was complete on Adrian Street. The report also indicated that the village’s money market account funds were successfully moved in September.

Lastly, it was noted that the village received complaints about the smell and taste of the water, however the City of Wauseon assured the village that the water is still safe to drink and use.

Under old business, the bulk pickup bill was $3,000 and 20 ton was picked up. The village has gotten word that the township will be doing a bulk pickup in the spring as well, a date will be given at a later time.

An update was given about Dollar General stating that the village was given updated prints last week on the building.

Then council discussed new business, starting with the Fire Departments Feather party that is happening Saturday, November 11th and the village is donating $50 as they do every year.

Leaf pick up will be the weeks of November 13th and December 4th. There was a meeting at economic development and there were talks about finding places in the area for more housing that is desperately needed.

The village contacted Marcy Kaptur in hopes of getting help with finding funds for the new water tower and Marcy Kaptur’s office gave the village some more grant options that they can apply for.

Next, discussion took place regarding insurance for village employees. Following the discussion, it was decided no action shall be taken before speaking with the village solicitor.

Lastly came Sheriff’s Report of 30.5 hours for the month of September and with nothing left on the agenda to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. The next meeting will be December 4th at 7:00 p.m.
