(May 9th, 2015) – STRYKER: The pitching duo of Parker and Chad Ruffer combined to not only leave Antwerp scoreless, but without a hit at all in Stryker’s Sectional win over the Archers. Yet the Panther’s dominance was not limited to the mound, as the Stryker bats racked up enough runs to have the contest called after just six innings.

Stryker earned the victory over Antwerp 10-0.

The Panthers wasted no time, opening the game with a 5 run effort in the bottom of the first inning. They tacked on 2 more runs in the second to establish a 7-0 lead very early into the contest. After a couple of scoreless innings, the boys of Stryker drove in 2 more runs in the fifth to build their lead to 9 runs. Needing just 1 more run to end the game early, they would obtain it in the bottom of the sixth, claiming the Sectional win over the Archers.

Parker Ruffer pitched the first four innings against Antwerp. Not allowing a hit or a run, the senior struck out 9 batters, walking 2 more. Chad Ruffer came in to finish the last two innings. The junior earned 2 strikeouts, not giving up a hit or a run, and just 1 walk.

The batter’s box was kind to Parker as well. The elder Ruffer brought in the last 3 runs for Stryker, hitting a 2 run home run and an RBI single in his last two at bats. Cameron Frey hit for a pair of singles, driving in 2 RBIs as well.
