The Williams County Agricultural Society met on January 18, 2024 at 7 p.m., first hearing from Ingrid Hoffman, who introduced an idea to make a quilt from donated 4H and FFA shirts to auction off, with proceeds to go to the pig pens.

The minutes from their December meeting were approved as presented, as was the treasurer’s report.

They decided to look into options to honor the Ohio State Fair Queen other than the bench brought up at their last meeting, and 1 quote has been submitted for the hog pens so far.

The association approved a bid on flooring for the Thaman Building with Northwest Interiors, and then approved their committee and volunteer lists for the next fair season.

The fair schedule was then discussed, with the itinerary for Tuesday still being decided and looked into.

It was shared that there is more grant funding available, and the Association agreed on a list of projects that would be included in the grant application.

Three entertainment options for the midway were approved, as was Ingrid Hoffman’s idea of an auctioned off quilt.

Prices were discussed for the fair week’s entertainment, and the association decided to add trick riding and trick roping to the rodeo this year, which is set to take place on the first Saturday of the fair.
