Those in charge at Bryan’s Grand Plaza Authentic Mexican Grill have come together to invest not only in the future of their family, but also the City of Bryan with the opening of another restaurant.

Nana’s Pancake Place will be holding their soft opening this week, with Monday through Friday seeing an 8 a.m. opening for menu tasting and operation testing.

Usually, the all-American breakfast place will be open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., and all updates will be featured on their Facebook page titled “Nana’s Pancake Place.”

The location will see the old Shaffer’s Restaurant building reopened to the public, once again serving those in the Bryan area.

The restaurant is already fully staffed, with the intent being to open this restaurant for the next generation of family members to run.

“We hope that the community welcomes us as the family embraces this change from Mexican cuisine to American breakfast cuisine, and we hope very much that everyone will come out to try and enjoy what we have to offer.”

The new sign for the location was installed on February 8, 2024, and the soft opening is planned to take place the week of Monday, February 12, 2024.

The second generation is composed of about 20 individuals, and while most of the funding was accrued by four main family members, many in the family helped to make this dream a reality for themselves, their children, and the City of Bryan.
