(June 5th and 6th, 2015) – COLUMBUS: The Lady Indians of Wauseon racked up 15 points at the State track meet, giving them an admirable fifteenth place finish against a field of sixty-seven. Taylor Vernot and Seneca Wyse played sizable roles in procuring such a strong finish to the track season.

Vernot, along with Aleea Volkman, Aneesa Volkman, and Avery Giguere, ran in the 4X800 meter relay. Their efforts, while respectable, were not enough to earn the girls a top place. They ran a 9:56.21, good for fifteenth place. It should be noted, however, that the difference between fifteenth and twelfth place was roughly five seconds, as Fairfield Union finished in the latter position at 9:51.03.

Vernot also ran in a pair of individual events, competing in the one and two mile runs. The former saw the senior distance runner claim fifth place, crossing the finish line in 5:05.13. But it was the 3200 meter race that was the most productive for Vernot. She finished the two mile event in 11:01.98, giving her second place in the race.

Wyse also contributed to the Wauseon effort, running in the 400 meter dash. Qualifying through the preliminary run with a time of 58.18, she placed sixth before taking part in the final race. She would hold that position in the finals, improving her time to 58.12.

It was the combination of Vernot and Wyse that propelled the Lady Indians so far up the leader board in the elite track meet.
