Dollar General in Edgerton has officially reopened and has been rebranded at one of Dollar General’s Market facilities.

Their first day officially being reopened was on Tuesday, July 16th. Now settled into their new 12,687 sq ft building, the store will be serving the community in a more expanded way then they were previously able to.

Not only will the store continue to service the community with general items that they had in their previous building but also a wide variety of new items.

The building, now far larger than their pervious location, features not only person care, beauty, home and garden, and electronics, but now the store will have expanded grocery items, fridge and freezer items, as well as now having fresh meats and fresh fruits, vegetables, and bakery items.

The store also now features two checkout lanes as well as four self-checkout lanes which will aide in keeping traffic flowing through the building even during peak times or seasons.

Store manager, Marie Tavares, shared how excited her and her entire staff were that they had finally reopened. She shared how much work her and her staff put into transferring everything to the new building from their previous building just south of their new location.

It took her and her staff eight days to transfer everything once their new Dollar General Market building was done. Construction on the new building itself took about two months from start to finish.

The Dollar General Market is currently hiring for full-time and part-time staff members. The Dollar General Market is open seven days a week from 8am-9pm every day.

Tavares welcomes the community to come out and enjoy not only the new things they have to offer but also to be a part of the new atmosphere as “it’s truly a beautiful store.”
