APPROVAL … Council members discuss the conditions of buying the land.

On Monday, November 4, 2024, the Village of Stryker held an exclusive meeting to discuss a purchase agreement for land. The meeting started at 5:00pm with several village officials and council members present.
Immediately after roll call, the meeting went into executive session to discuss the purchase agreement for around 34 acres of land the Village of Stryker is interested in buying.
The purchase price for the property sits at $100,000.00. The Village of Stryker is purchasing the land from Woda Cooper Development, Inc., a property management company out of Columbus, Ohio.
After a discussion between council members in executive session, they ultimately decided to approve the purchase of the land, expanding the Village of Stryker.
Following the decision, the finance committee then went on to discuss budgeting for 2025. Discussed were wages, raises, and payroll for the upcoming year.
Other village employee benefits and features were also brought to the council’s attention when designing the budget.
The council reviewed the plan for the budget and researched options on how to reduce spending in some areas. Determining a final draft for the budget is a lengthy process, but steps were taken to further the completion before 2025.
The council concluded they would continue their conversation at the next regular council meeting on November 18.
