(PRESS RELEASE) Swanton Township – The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on November 16, 2024, at approximately 7:45 P.M.
The crash occurred on State Route 64 near mile post 7 in Swanton Township, Lucas County.
Heather G. Decair, age 27, of Monclova, Ohio was operating a 2006 Pontiac G6 westbound on State Route 64. Ms. Decair’s vehicle drove off the north side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Barbara A. Wegener, age 50, of Toledo, Ohio was seated in the front passenger seat. Kenneth J. Blake, age 53, of Holland, Ohio was seated in the left rear passenger seat.
All occupants were pronounced deceased on scene and transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office. Both Ms. Decair and Ms. Wegener were wearing their safety belts and Mr. Blake was not restrained.
State Route 64 in the area of the crash was closed for approximately five hours, but is now open.
The Patrol was assisted on scene by the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Whitehouse Police Department, Lucas County Metroparks, Whitehouse Fire and EMS, and the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation.
