The Fountain City Amphitheater roared to life Thursday evening with the sounds of honking horns, rumbling engines, and laughter as families gathered for Bryan’s first ever “Wheels on Display: Touch-a-Truck!” event.
From 4 to 6 p.m., kids – or more than a few curious adults – had the rare chance to get up close and personal with the vehicles that keep the community running.
Everything from fire engines and police cruisers to utility trucks and construction rigs lined the parking area at the end of Avenue B. The Amphitheater formed a showcase of horsepower and hometown pride.
Local organizations brought their best to the lot including the Bryan City Fire and Police Departments, John’s Towing, Bryan Municipal Utilities, and representatives from Advanced Rehabilitation Technology and S&S Directional Boring.
There was even a strong showing from Northwest Ohio Community Action and Valley Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Bryan, making sure the lineup reflected both the grit and grace behind Bryan’s everyday heroes.
Children gleefully climbed aboard the trucks, beeped horns, flipped switches, and peppered workers with questions about what their big rigs do.
Of course, no event at the AMP would be complete without a few delicious bites. Food trucks lined the edge of the Amphitheater, serving up crowd favorites.
Wicked Wiches, Rolling Fire Pizza, and Pink Penguin Premium Ice Cream offered meals and treats that kept the energy high and bellies full as attendees explored the display.
The “Wheels on Display” event is part of the Amphitheater’s ongoing celebration of its fifth anniversary, and judging by the turnout and smiles, it was a strong contender for a great summer start.
